Feeling Close to Your Spouse: Priceless

Do you know how many hours there are in a week?  The answer is 168.  The more important question is:  How many of those hours do you devote to strengthening your relationship with your spouse?

As we strive to meet the demands of our busy lives and schedules, we sometimes neglect those aspects of our lives that are most important to us, like our relationships.

A recent study has shown that simply devoting an extra five hours a week to your marriage can significantly improve your relationship with your spouse. The research suggested four ways to spend this time together:

1.  Learn about the events of your spouse's day.

2.  Have a stress-reducing conversation at the end of each day.

3.  Do at least one thing each day that expresses your affection and appreciation for each other.

4.  Have a weekly date together.

Devoting an extra five hours of your 168-hour week to your marriage amounts to less than 3% of your time (2.98%) to be exact), but it could make a dramatic difference to the quality of your marriage.

So the real question is:  how important is it to you to have a happy and fulfilling marriage?

We think it's priceless.
